Well I have sad news for all of you, I will not be able to keep developing Pikaedit since I have a lot of stuff to do…
However this is not the end of Pikaedit since I will release the source code for almost everything so development can continue by someone who would like to do it…
Before everything, I would like to thank everyone who contributed and shared ideas to improve Pikaedit as well as everyone who used the program.
Now about source code release, the source code has the current Pikaedit versions except Gen 5 which had a Pokedex editor being developed, as well as PikaeditLib source code, the Plugin Updater and the Legality Plugin. All of them except the Legality Plugin are written on C#. Since I don’t have time to document and comment everything with notes you can ask me some stuff about the code if needed
Source code available here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/87693wrrz6b5m4d/Pikaedit_Source_Code.zip
Well seems that problems went through the site and it got suspended XD so I’m back here… sorry for the inconvinience
It seems that I won’t be moving the blog anywhere in the meantime so expect the updates here
Well I’m almost finished with personal stuff and I will be doing some updates for Pikaedit… as a side note I’m checking all new comments I couldn’t answer due to being very busy, I will answer them one by one, however those who asked how to send pkx to XY and related questions here is the answer:
NO, people is still working on a way but GTS/Save file encryption is the problem… I will make a post when a real method is possible even if Pikaedit cannot do it.
Edit: Also for those who don’t read the blog, a new update will be available for Pikaedit XY with current status for sending/injecting pkx for XY, when one is available the menu will change and when you click it, it will send you to the webpage of the method… as well with some minor updates
Well… I think the time I had to develop Pikaedit has been reduced to nothing last week and I beleive it will continue until May 9, after that day I will have little time to develop something so don’t expect updates for now…
Also I have received a lot of comments about XY save file editing and injection which is impossible at the moment, please avoid asking this, I will post about it when something is available even if Pikaedit doesn’t have the feature. Any comments regarding XY save file editing and pkx injection will be deleted.
A Pikaedit XY update is now available, fixing an issue with Veekun’s database connection (multiple Pikaedit versions cannot be used at the same time due to this) in this version the problem is fixed for Pikaedit XY, for Gen 4 the update is almost ready but for Gen 5 I need to finish DLC stuff (C-Gear/Pokedex Skins and Musical) so it will be released later, also I made a plugin that can be used in this version since a bug in the XY Plugin System was solved allowing you to import a Gen 5 pkm file and convert it into a Gen 6 pkx that is loaded automatically into the editor, it uses almost the same mechanics as PokeBank’s Poke Transporter (misses some stuff like 3DS Region data since it depends on your 3DS) you can download the plugin here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/rhfchn2h1rh4f3v/PKM+to+PKX+Plugin.dll
Here it is! All Pikaedit versions have been updated with PkmLib integrated with Veekun open source database modified and somewhat updated for Pikaedit :D This allows all versions of Pikaedit to have legal editor mode enabled to have only legal abilities and moves, ability index now works even in hack mode to select the ability that matches the selected ability index… also movesets are loaded depending on pokemon data and the pokemon level for levelup moves… I also added some previous Pikaedit stuff and a moveset legality analysis :3
All Pikaedit updates are aproximately 18MB so the updater will take a while but it is normal… also as a note some moves aren’t added at Veekun’s database like some event moves and some XY movesets (specially Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion movesets) I recommend changing to Hack mode to make these edits, also report here or at the Facebook page so I can make the changes manually to the database
I need some opinions about a possible implementation on PikaeditLib which involves all current Pikaedit versions, I was able to integrate Veekun’s open source database into PikaeditLib to have some crazy SQL queries to get movesets and abilities (which helps for the legality analysis) including getting moves based on the pokemon level and gen… however the file size increase for PikaeditLib increases from almost 1MB to 40.1MB (due to the *.db) and since Pikaedit before stating rewrites the previous PikaeditLib.dll, it suffers the same file size increase… so what would you like if PikaeditLib isn’t found in the Pikaedit folder, it should be downloaded from Internet and have all Pikaedit versions below 40 MB or have them all with increased file size or do not implement it at all? (as a note startup times aren’t affected)
